Auckland, This day. The Northern Club banquettcd the Governor yesternight. His Excellency, in replying to the toast of his health, said that he would do all that lay in his poAver to benefit the people of New Zealand. In viuAvof the completion of the Panama canal, witli Auckland's geographical position, splendid harbor, and the South Sea Island trade, it did not require a far-seeing person to predict for it greatness in the not distant future.
