CROSS, Brokers^ PROSPECTUS OF THE ROSS No. 2 GOLD MINING COMPANY (Limited.) To be Recisterad under '' The Mining Company's Act, 1872." CAriTAL, £30,000 in Thirty Thousand Shares of £1 each, 20,000 of which are offered to the Public at par. The present proprietors have agreed to hand over their interest in the Lease and Water Rights for a consideration of £500, and will take up 10,000 shares, upon which 4s per share shall bo deemed paid. Tho promoters thus undertake a liability of His per share upon one-third of the total number to be allotted, thereby showing their perfect confidence in the genuineness of the venture. A cash deposit of ijd per share to be made on application, and Is on allotment, calls not to exceed Gd per month. It is not anticipated that it will be necessary to call up more than half the capital. The Company is being formed for the purpose of working a special claim of 81 acres held by the present proprietors, which immediately adjoins the Ross Gold-mining Company's ground, and extends the whole length of its northern boundary, including a largo portion of the Ross Flat, which is so well known to contain, within its area, some of the richest alluvial deposits in the Australian Colonies. Closely adjoining the Company'slease the celebrated claims known as the "Cassius," " Morning Star," and "Excelsior" are situated. From these three claims a total yield of 11,0430/,s 9dwts and 12grs was obtained during a period (taking the average) of 32-1 weeks, or equal to 3Goozs 'Jdwts ijgrs per week. This large quantity of gold was obtained from an area not exceeding seven acres. It may be here mentioned that when the three claims were compelled to cease work, through inability to cope with the water, several of the best gold-bearing faces were being worked in a line leading- towards this Company's ground. The proposed mode of working the ground is by hydraulic lifts, and the proprietors have" secured sufficient water power for that purpose. In inviting , the Public to subscribe for the shares now offered, the Provisional Directors feel confident of tho genuineness of the venture, and of its ultimate success. The fact of shares in the Ross Gold-mining Company, the adjoining claim, realising at the present time from 70s to 80s per share, with only 9s paid up, is ample proof of the high opinion now universally expressed, that the ground is of a most valuable nature, and" promises to be highly remunerative. It is worthy of note that a portiou of the proposed Company's lease was included in the Ross Gold-mining Company's original survey and application, until such time as a detailed survey was completed, when it was found that more than the stixmluted area applied for had been marked out. Attached lo the prospectus is _a plan showing the exact position of the claim with regard to the existing workings and leases in the Eons district. Immediately upon the requisite number of shares being applied for the Company will be registered under the " Mining Company's Act, 1872. Prospectuses and plans can be obtained from any of tho above Sharebrokers, by whom applications for shares will be rec >ived. Broker for Huwke'a Bay— -W.G. MOTLEY.
