Second production of the comic opera " Boccaccio" by the Simonseii company at the Theatre Royal to-night. A special tram in connection therewith leaves Hastings for Napier and intermediate stations at 7 p.m. The half-yearly general meeting of the members of the Napier AVorking Men's Club, for the election of officers and the transaction of other business, takes place in the club hall at 8.30 to-night. Tenders for leasing for a period of twenty years the Corporation reserve near AYoodvillc will be received at the Toavu Clerk's office up to noon on Monday. Mr Lyndon Avill sell on Monday, at 11 a.m., on the premises, Fitzroy road, Napier, the Avhole of the valuable furniture, plate, and other effects of the late Robert Foster. Messrs Banner and Liddle sell at their rooms on Monday at 11 a.m., subdivision of town section 82, Carlyle street, Avith two brick houses thereon. Tenders Avill be received at the Raihvay Department, AVcllington, up to noon on Monday for the supply aud delivery of 10,000 sleepers for the Napier railway. A number of sections (mentioned in advertisement) iv the town and suburbs of Taupo Avill bo ottered for sale by public auction at the Crown Lands ollice, Auckland, at 11 a.m. on Monday. Mr J. A. Roarden announces that the second quarter of the current year commences at the Napier Commercial Aoadeiny on Tuesday.
In addition to the lands advertised, Mr M. R. Miller has received instructions to oiler at his land sale on Friday 100 acres in the Heretaunga special settlement, and two quarter-acre sections. Messrs J. Torr, sen., J. Steven, 11. J. Twigg, AY. A. Richardson, andAV. Carswell have been elected the Licensing Committee for Puketapu district, and the first meeting to elect a chairman is appointed to be held at Villers' store, Petane, on Saturday next.
An excursion train ietrvos Hastings for Napier A'ia intermediate stations on Tuesday evening, for which ordinary tickets Avill not be available, returning after the opera, is over.
The second quarter at the Ladies College commences on Tuesday next.
The Toavu Clerk publishes for general information clauses -10 aud 41 of the Municipal Corporations Act, having reference to the Defaulter's List and the Burgess List, and announces that the said lists are ready for inspection at his office during usual office hours, remaining open until April 10th.
The Apothecaries Hall has been removed by Mr AVoods from its recent situation to more commodious premises opposite the Horse Bazaar, Hastings street. A night bell for the convenience of customers Avill be found at the Hall.
Hot and cold suppers and pies and colfee can be had at Schierning's restaurant from 8 to 12 to-night.
Mr Frauk'Pell and Mr G. T. Cro.ss__ha.vc been appointed local brokers for the Kitchen and Sons aud McLood Brothers Company (limited), tbe abridged prospectus and list of provisional directors of which Avill be found on our fourth page to-day. John O'Shaimassy, of Xa/pier, fab driver, has filed a declaration in the Supreme , Court of his inability to meet his business engagements, and the first meeting of his creditors Avill be held in the Court House, Napier, on' Wednesday, April 11th. Mr Gillott, wholesale aud retail fruiterer, Emerson-street, has received a largo consignment of fruit, Avhich will be sold cheap bA- the case.
"Mr John Murray has received at the Napier Cash Boot Shop, his first shipment of Avinter boots for this season direct from the Home manufacturers, and quotes prices at which same tire being offered. An advertisement iv our Supplement today announces the charges for board and residence, ke., at Schierning's restaurant and boarding house in Hastings-street.
Messrs Magill and Campbell, direct importers, Emerson-street, invite the public to try their new fashionable drapery and clothing suitable for the coming winter season.
The Public Works Department invite tenders for the erection of footways to the AVaipaAva and Tuki Tuki railway bridges. The Little Dustpan Avants it knoAvn that it is the cheapest house in Napier for furniture, bedding, ke., and that it has twenty new aud socond-hand pianos for cute.
The Ncav Zealand Clothing Factory has iioav opened 30 cases of autumn goods, consisting of large varieties in men's and boy's clothing, hosiery, hats, blankets, rugs, ties, ke. This is tho largest stock they have ever before opened in Napier, and therefore they have marked their goods specially loav so as to insure a speedy sale. Once more they beg to remind the general public that, as manufacturers, they are in a position to offer goods at manufacturer's price.?, thus saving the public from paying two profits. Burroughs beef and iron wine is procurable from Mr AVoods at the Apothecaries Hall, Hastiim-s-street.
