T. Ellis (Hastings).—Disraeli entered Parliament in 1837 as member for Maidstone, which constituency ho changed for Shrewsbury in 18-11. In 18-17 he was returned for the County of Buckingham. Up to IS 12 he was a follower of Sir Robert reel, but when- that Afinister pronounced in favor of a free trade .policy Disraeli allied, himself to tho Conservative party.
