PROSP E C T U S OF THE I) OSS No. 2 GOLD MINING XV CO API'ANY (Limited.) To UK Rl-O-ISTKRAD UNDER "Till. AIIXIXG Company's Act, 1872." Capital, .-C30,000 in Thirty Thousand Shares of £1 each, 20,000 of Av'hich arc offeredto the Public at par. The present proprietors have agreed to hand over their interest in the Lease and AYater Rights for a consideration of £500, and will take up 10,000 shares, upon Avhich 4s per share shall lie deemed paid. The promoters thus undertake a liability of Ids per share upon one-third of the total number to be allotted, thereby showing their perfect confidence in the genuineness of the venture. A cash deposit of Od per share to bo made on application, and Is on allotment, calls not to exceed Od per month. It is not anticipated that it will bo necessary to call up more than half the capital. The Company is being formed for the purpose of working a special claim of 81 acres held by the present proprietors, which immediately adjoins the Ross Gold-mining Company's ground, aud extends the Avhole length of its northern boundary, including a large portion of the Ross Flat, which is so Avell known to contain, within its area, some of the richest alluvial deposits in the Australian Colonies. Closely adjoining the Company'slcase the celebrated claims knoAvn as tho "Cassius," "Morning Star," and "Excelsior" are situated. From these three claims a total yield of 11,5430zs Odwts and 12grs was obtained during a period (taking' the average) of 32 J,- weeks, or equal to 300ozs OdAvts sgrs per Aveck. This largequantity of gold Avas obtained from an area not exceeding seven acres. It may be here mentioned that when the three claims were compelled to cease work, through inability to cope Avith the water, several of the best gold-bearing faces wore being worked in a line leading towards this Company's ground. The proposed mode of Avorking the ground is by hydraidic lifts, and the proprietors have secured sufficient Avater power for that purpose. In inviting the Public to subscribe for the shares hoav offered, the Prinisioiial Directors feel confident of the genuineness of the A'cuture, and of its ultimate success. The fact of shares in the Ross Gold-mining Company, the adjoining claim, realising at the present time 'from 70s to 80s per share, Avith only 9s paid up, is ample proof of tho high opinion iioav universally expressed, that the ground is of a most valuable nature, and promises to be highly remunerative. It is Avorthy of note that a portion of the proposed Company's lease was included in the Ross Gold-mining Company's original survey and application, until such time as a detailed survey was completed, when it was found that more than the stipulated area applied for had boon marked out. Attached to the prospectus is a plan shoAving the exact position of the claim with regard to the existing workings and leases in the Ross district. Immediately upon the requisite number of shares being applied for the Company AA-ill be registered under the " Alining Company's Act, 1872." Prospectuses and plans can be obtained from any of the above Sharcbrokers, by Avhom applications for shares Avill be received. Broker for Hawke's Bay— AY. G. MOTLEY.
