The Union Steams-hip Company's s.s. Onuipcre, Captain Webster, from Southern ports, was coming up the bay as our report left the Spit. It is thought doubtful if .si 10 will be able: to eros- the bar to-dsiy owing to tin 1 heavy tea rolling in the bay. Iho pilotwill, take .soundings at high water this afternoon. The Omaperu is announced to steam from the wharf at 1 o'clock to-morrow afternoon for Gisbornc, Tauranga, and Auckland. The steamer Maori, Captain Anderson, left for Wairoa at 10 o'clock this morning, taking nine passengers and a full cargo. The Union Company's steamer Southern Cross. Captain Alhnan, is telegraphed as having loft "Wellington at 10.SO hist night, jmd will arrive here early to-morrow morning. She is to be brought inside to discharge her cargo, and at I o'clock to-mor-row afternoon is to steam for Gisbonie and Auckland. There is v very heavy southerly swell rolling into the bay to-day, heavier than ■we have experienced for many mouths past.
