Mr Bryce has obtained a Avritten pledge from them to permit tho preliminary exploration for a line of railway to go on. The Native Minister gave thorn a distinct assurance that J the exploration would be simply to look out for a line of railway. Mr Hursthousc will again start on his mission next Aveek. The Alexandra correspondent has just telegraphed to the Taranaki Herald that Mr Bryce has seen Nui and Wainui, and arranged for the exploration in the King country to proceed unopposed. Mr Hursthouse is to start again on Wednesday. Christchurch, This day. Tho Hon. Major Atkinson arrived here yesterday in the Hinemoa, and the Governor left for Wellington in the same steamer shortly afterwards. Wellington, This day.
