FIRST DAY,
[BY TELEGHAPH.] The autumn meeting of the above club commenced to-day. The weather was magnificent, and "the late rains having freshened up the pastures the beautiful appearance of the country was not the least attraction of the day. The course was in splendid condition, and the attendance was very large. The first event on the card was the MAIDEN PLATE, Of GO soys ; distance H- miles ; open to all horses that have never won an advertised race exceeding 23 soys. in value; winner of any such race after entry to cany 71b penalty ; weight for age.
