The barque Victor, just arrived at Newcastle, reports that, on the ">th instant, she found the wreck of • a large vessel bottom upwnrds off the coast of Tasmania. The wreck is believed to be that of the brig Louisa, which left Ilobart on the 10th December for Melbourne, and has not sinco been heard of.

A largo open air meeting was held yesterday, at which resolutions were passed protesting against the vote for immigration which lias been passed by the Assembly.
Mr' A. C. Taylor, the member for Mudgee, made an apology in the Legislative Assembly last night for an unfounded statement which lie made recently The House received the apology.
