AUCKLAND.
This day. Typhoid fever is prevalent in some parts of the suburbs. An inquest was opened yesterday on the body of the woman Susan Dumieen but it was adjourned to procure evidence as to the missing seaman Charles Baker, who is supposed to have been drowned at the same time. A woman named Eliza Dietrich has told the police that she saw Dunneen fall over the wharf, but she is so muddled with drink that the police can make nothing of her statements.
