FATAL ACCIDENT ON THE WAIPAWA RAILWAY BRIDGE.

Mr Ben Smith, architect, was killed on the railway bridge at AVaipawa this morning at 10 minutes to 10 o'clock. Air Smith Avas Avalking on the bridge Avhen the train approached, and he stepped aside and took hold of one of the iron staunchions as the train dreAV closer. The engine-driver says that he (Smith) appeared to fall direct on to the rails, and was struck by the engine. Deceasod's skull behind the ear and jrav was much fractured, and death must have been instantaneous. Deceased was on his Avay to Air Harding's, Mount A r ernon Avhere ho ■was ovcrscering the building of Air Harding's new house.' It is supposed that when the train came along Air Smith got dizzy, and so lost his balance.-—(By telegraph, own correspondent.)
