Mr Roopo Brooking reports as follows upon the market transactions for the past week:—During the week the market has hown a slight upward tendency, most stock increasing slightly in value. I have quitted parcels of New Zealand Banks at £23 7s fid : Colonial Banks, £2 5s 6d; New Zealand Insurance, £3 1-ls ; National Insurance, 265; South British, 47b; Drugs, '24»: Kaiapoi, £26 ss: Southern Cross, 3.5. I have had buyers for N.Z. Banks at £23 5s : Colonial, £2 ss; N.Z. Insurance, £3 12s 6d; National, 25s Gd; South British, 46s Cd; Drugs, 23s 9d. Market prices this day :— Bank, £23 7s 6d ; National, £3 14s ; Colonial, £2 5s 6d ; N.Z. Insurance, £3 14s; National, £1 5s Gd ; South British, £3 17s ; Union, 21s ; Colonial, 9s ; Standard, 14s; N.Z. Shipping, £4 los ; Union Steam - bhip Company, £12 10s; Northern Investments, 22s 6d.
