General entries, acceptances, and final payments for the liawke's Bay Jockey Club's annual races, to bo run at Hastings next week, must be in the hands of the secretary, Mr Luckie, by eight o'clock tonight, at the Criterion Hotel. The Horticultural Society's show will be opened to-morrow aftcrno-jn at 2 o'clock, and exhibitors arc requested to forward their exhibits as early as possible. Mr Lyndon will sell a quantity of useful furniture and 50 volumes of books by auction at his mart to-morrow at 11 a.m. Messrs Mr R. Miller and Potts sell the thoroughbred entire Satoijuud the Clydesdale entire Young Dugdale by auction at the Empire sale yards, Waipawa, at 1.30 p.m. to-morrow. All accounts against the Ladies' Benevolent Society arc requested to bo rendered to the lion, treasurer, Mrs Close, forthwith. Major Routledgc issues the volunteer district orders for the month of March, which will be found elsewhere. The Napier Rifle Volunteers parade for skirmishing drill in front of the Athciueum to-morrow evening. Recruits will also parade at same place in order to form the support. The lease of You ell's restaurant is for sale by tender, the furniture, fittings, &c, to be taken at a valuation. All accounts owing to the la to Mr Yeuell must be paid by Saturday, and all accounts against the estate must be rendered by same date. The firm of Bisson and Co., boot sellers, has been dissolved, Mr Henry Renouf retiring from the business, which will be carried on by Mr Ph. Bisson, who will receive all moneys owing to and pay all debts due by the late firm. The Hikntoto wool scouring and fellmongery works at Clivc flat:: Mitchell's) will be carried on under the superintendence of Mr Peter Pownall, and boilingdown operations will be commenced at the works on Monday under the management of Mr Chandler. " Messrs Miller and Potts, Waipawa, and Mr M. R. Miller, Napier, will act as agents for the proprietors, Messrs Knowles and Co. The finder of a pocket-book containing money, which is lost, will be rewarded on leaving same at office of this paper. The owner of an English setter, which has been found, can have same on application at the police station at Hastings; if the dog is not claimed within seven days it will be sold to defray expenses. The distance of the Taradale Handicap, to be rim at the Taradale sports on Easter Monday, is 150 yards. Wertheim's sewing machines are sold on time payments at tho New Zealand Clothing Factory, Hastings-street, and Mr R. G. Graham has been appointed agent for tho disposal of these useful machines. Mr Hegh, bootmaker, wants it known that he has removed from Emerson street to Hastings street, next Cohen's Little Dustpan. Burroughs beef and iron wine is procurable from Mr Woods at the Apothecaries Hall, Hastings-street. A number of new advertisements will be found in our " "Wanted " column.
