In pursuance of the provisions of the " Counties Act, 187 C," and the "Counties Act, 1870 Amendment Act, 1882," the County Council of Hawke's Bay do order as follows, that is to sa.y : — 1. Any pigs or goats found running at large may be impounded by any person in any public pound or in any enclosure specially appointed for the purpose by the Council, and publicly notified. Such enclosure shall, for the purjwse of this bye-law only, be deemed a public pound, and the like fees and damages shall be payable in respect of any pigs or goats impounded therein, as in the case of a public pound. 2. The owner of any pig or goat found running at large shall be deemed guilty of an offence, and shall, upon conviction, forfeit and pay airy; sum not exceeding £1 for every pig- or goat so found running at large, to be recovered in the manner provided by the 20Sth section of the "Counties Act, 1876."
