ARRIVALS. February. <J7 Awaroa, topsail schooner, from Foxton. 23 Kiwi, s.s., from Wellington and Castlepoint. Passengers — Rev. Mr Ellis, Messrs E Pearce, J. Winter, Day, Win. Pay, and two steerage. DEPARTURES. February. 28—Fairy, s.s., for Mahia.
The topsail schooner Awaroa, Capt. Holmes, arrived here last evening from Foxtou, which place .she left on the 20 th instant, with a cargo of feet of totara timber consigned to order. She was berthed inside by the pilot at the breastwork this moniing, Avhcre she has commenced, to discharge. The steamer Kiwi, Capt. James Campbell, arrived here early this morning from Wellington via Castle Point, and took up her berth at the cattle wharf later on. Reports having experienced a heavy S.E. swell on the coast. She brought a full cargo for this port, including- transhipments out of the ships Parcorn, Duncraig, and G-arelock, and a large boiler and vat consigned to Messrs M. "R. Miller and E. W. Kno-wles. Slio is to got away again for Wellington at 7 o'clock this evening. The Union Steamship Company's s.s. Taiaroa, which left Wellington at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon, was signalled when our report left the Spit, and would probably tirrive in the roadstead shortly after 1 o'clock. Her outward passengers were to 1)C taken off at 4 o'clock this afternoon, •when the steamer was to resume her voyage for Gisbornc, Tauranga, and Auckland. The steamer Fairy, Captain John Campbell, left for the Mahia at an early hour this morning, with 200 packages of station stores, and will be returning with whale oil. The p.s. Mananvs departure for Wairoa was again postponed Inst night, but she will probably get away to-night if a more favorable report of the bar be received this afternoon. The Union steamer Southern Cross is expected to arrive here on Thursday evening, and will be sailing for Wellington on Friday. Messrs Shaw, Savill and Co.'.s barqueMay Queen is now ready for sea, and will get away this evening. Should there not be a favorable breeze the steamer Kiwi will tow her clear of the roadstead at about 7 o'clock this evening. The following arc her intending passengers —Mesdames M. T. Lowry, E. A. Sainsbury, and E. Duncan, Misses G. E. Lowry, M. M. Ncwson, M. J. Lowry, and E. Lawsou, Messrs T. N. Lowry and A. N. Williams, and Masters E. P., C. R,, and G. O. K. Sainsbury. The Union Company's steamer Te Anau from the South, and Manapouri from Northern ports, arc expected to be a day late this week, and will thus not arrive here before Sunday morning next.
[BY TELEGBATH.] Auckland, This day. Sailed, yesterday afternoon, mail steamer City of Sydney for 'Frisco, with the outward English mails. She had £10,721 in specie on board from Sydney for San Francisco. Dunedkt, This day. Arrived, H. B. Steenken, 121 days out from Hong Kong.
