This day
A succession of earthquakes occurred here on Saturday night and early on Sunday morning. Some of them were very violent, and accompanied by rumbling noises. There was a dead calm at the time, and it was raining heavily. The oscillation of the earthquake Avavo was from its old quarter, Tongariro.
