Section 2 has a small frontage to the Taupo-road, and is bounded on one side by the Mohaka river. Sections 3 and 4 have frontage to the Taupo-road. Maungaharuru District: Fern hills and spurs on the western slopes of the Maungaharuru range, the soil is light, about one half of Section 2 is undulating country covered Avith natural grasses. Section 3is good pastoral land. Section 4 has frontage to Taupo-road. A fciv clumps of bush arc scattered about on Section 1. Waitara District: Open fern country, hilly. In pursuance of the provisions of the " Counties Act, 1870," aud the "Counties Act, 1876 Amendment Act, 1882," the County Council of Hawke's Bay do order as follows, that is to say :-- 1. Anj-pigs or goats found running at large may be impounded by any person in any public pound or in an}' enclosure specially appointed for the purpose by the Council, and publicly notified. Such enclosure shall, for the purpose of this bye-law only, be deemed a public pound, and the like fees and damages shall be payable in respect of any pigs or goats impounded therein, as in tho case of a public pound. 2. The owner of any pig or goat found running at large shall be deemed guilty of an offence, and shall, upon conviction, forfeit and i>ay any sum not exceeding ,C 1 for every pig or goat so found runniug at large, to be recovered in the manner provided by the 208 th section of the "Counties Act, 1876."
