TRAINING NOTES.

Taking advantage of the pleasant morning after the rain I visited the Hastings course on Saturday, and was gratified with the sight of most of the local horses doing their AVs_k under their respective trainers. The first to strip Avas Martin's team, two of Avhom, Mischief and Leonato Avent for a four-mile spin, coming home up the straight at a smart pace, Mischief looking very well, Avith Leonato very muchimproved. Following these came Captain Russell's pair, who also did four miles at a smart pace, finishing hard held; Kingeraig still slioavs signs of his late accident, although game; Leonora l»oks Avell and to my fancy rather stout, but there is plenty of tune to alter this. Chaffe noi*,arrivcd, ami sent Lubra and Te Ata for a three-mile gallop, both going well; Te Ata has greatly improA-ed in manners since I last saA*v her "go, while Lubra looks big. Carmen did a four-mile slow gallop, and the ?T . ro filly in clothing Avent two miles at a fair pace." Frederica and Hippocuc then went for a smart spin of tivo miles, Frederica continuing for an extra round ata swinging gallop. Lecturer, not being fit, did not strip, doing two miles walking exercise Avith the remainder of the team after their gallop. SIJIL.
