This day

Tho Presbyterian General Assembly sat yesterday with closed doors for the purpose of investigating tho action taken by the Christchurch Presbytery in deposing the Rev. C. Fraser, of Cliristchureh, from ministerial office aftor instituting an inquiry into certain charges of immorality made against him. The Assembly sustained the action of the Presbytery, the Rev. D. Bruce and Dr. M'Lcod being the only dissentients.
