Tiffin, Esq., (again kindly placed at the disposal of the Committee), on WEDNESDAY and THURSDAY, the 7th and Sth of MARCH. The Committee have spared no trouble in their endeavor to make the Second Show an improvement on the first, and are offering two prizes each in no less than 14-1 classes. C. L. MARGOLIOUTH, Hon. HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY. following - Special Prizes have been i kindly offered by the underuamed gentlemen : — The Officers the Volunteer Companies, 2 guineas, forthe best collection of Messrs Dinwiddio, 'Walker and Co.—l Vol., value .'3o'- : "Origin and Nature of, and Use of Wine," by J. L. Thudicombe ; for best collection of Grapes, however grown. The proprietor Daily Telegraph—"Loudon Encyclopedia) of Botany ; for 11. S. Tiffin, Esq.—Lowe's New Trail Ferns ; for best exhibit of Dried Ferns. Manual of Botany ; for best Miniature Garden. J. Harding, Esq.—First prize, 1 set of Garden Tools, for best collection of Flowers : second prize, a lot of Plants to be given when able to be shifted in the autumn. The above prizes to be given to any boy or μ-irl belonging- to any '' Band of Hope '' in Hawke's Bay. Messrs. Gilberd and Anderson. —1 dozen of Pine Trees, Avhen able to be shifted, and 1 dozen of blight-proof Apples ; for best collection of Apples of six varities. F. W. 0.
