In pursuance of the provisions of the " Counties Act, 1870," and the "Counties Act, 1870 Amendment Act, 1882," the County Council of HaAvke'sßay do order as folloAvs. that is to say : — 1. An A' pigs or goats found running at large may be impounded by any person in any public pound or in any enclosure specially appointed for the purpose by the Council, and publicly notified. Such enclosure shall, for the purpose of this bye-law only, be deemed a public pound, and the like fees and damages shall be payable iv respect of any pigs or goats impounded therein, as iv the case of a public pound. 2. The owner of any pig or goat found running at large shall be deemed guilty of an offence, aud shall, upon conviction, forfeit and pay any sum not exceeding .£1 for every pig or goat so found running at large, to be recovered in the manner provided by the 208 th section of the "Counties Act, 1870."
