Wood's poisoned wheat, prepared at the Apothecaries Hall, causes instant death to vats, mice, rabbits, or birds. The pantomime of 'Mack the Giant Killer" will be presented at the Theatre Royal to-night for the last time but one, and by special requestto-morrow afternoon, comencing at '2.30, the pantomime will be played for the convenience of country visitors and families at reduced prices of admission. Mr Evan will sell by auction to-morrow at 11 a.m., on the wharf, Port Ahuriri, fowl wheat and feed oats ex Mary Ogilvic, and at 11.30 a.m. 000 sacks feed oats without reserve at the New Zealand Shipping Company's stores. Re-enrolled members of the Eiflo Volunteers parade at the new drill shed, Teimysoustreet, in full dress at 7.-10 this evening, and new members passed into the company will parade at the same place at 8.30. A sale of needlework and fancy articles, in aid of the building - fund of the new church, will take place in the temporary church of St. Andrew's, Port Ahuriri, on Monday afternoon next, and gifts towards ante are solicited. Mr G-. A. Oliver, the returning- officer, officially notifies the result of the i>6ll taken at Pukehipn to till the vacancy in the Hawkc's Bay County Council, and declares Mr P. Dolbel duly elected to represent the Pukehipu riding in the Council. A teacher for the Mohaka district school is wanted. -llr Dugieby invites tenders for the erection of two cottages at Hastings. Two or three men are wanted to erect fencing and cut a drain on the Longlands estate. }[vC. A. Fitzroy, Hasting-.--, will liberally reward the finder of a spaniel and a greyhound, lost from Hastings on the Ist instant. Messrs Blythe and Co., have wool embroidered kits ;it 1 s each. Mr Ziesrel. the local manager of the New Zealand Clothing Factory, informs the public that, owing to his early departure South, ho is prepared to take orders for measure made suits, which will be executed Tinder his personal supervision.
