WELLINGTON.
This day. A proclamation in the Gazette further prorogues Parliament until the lGth of April next. A number of Chinese residents in Wellington have subscribed £40 towards the Wellington Hospital. Young Ray, of Cartcrton, died on Sunday from the injuries received when Comus fell with him in the Consolation Race at the Taratahi races on the 22nd ultimo. Three female prisoners escaped from Wellington gaol yesterday afternoon. Two of them arc named Dobic, and the other Douglas. The former were only recently sent to prison for passing base coin, while the latter was committed i'or trial for housebreaking and stealing wearing apparel. The prisoners effected their escape by placing a form against the wall, and during the absence cf the warders they scaled the Avail. They were captured this morning at the back of Mount Victoria, luxu. were lorJywi in gaol.
