SIR BYRAN O'LOGPILAN BEFORE
HIS CONSTITUENTS
ME REDMOND THE LAND LEAGUER,
AT ADELAIDE,
MELBOURNE,
Monday
The position of the ship Bcrengaria is unaltered,' but it is expected that she will be floated oft' when more cargo has been removed. Two hundred and fifty tons have already been jettisoned. This day. The ship Bereiigaria was successfully floated last night. Sir Bryan O'Loghlau, the Premier, addressed his constituents at Lancefiold last night. He justified his administration of the Treasury, and attributes the failure of the loan to Stock Exchange "bears," and expressed himself as .still sanguine that the loan would be floated. He defended the administration of the railways by his colleague Mr Bent, but stated that he doubted the ability of the proposed Board of management. In his speech Sir Bryan did not announce any new policy, and it was received in a lukewarm manner by the meeting.
