CHRISTCHURCH.
This day. The Mayor has been challenged to a public disputation ou the temperance question by the advocates of prohibition, but ho declines. The financial committee of the congregation of St. Andrews' Presbyterian Church intend to take active steps to obtain possession of the church, and in the meantime they will hold service in some other building.
