WANGANUI.

This day. Gastlceliif, the new seaside township belonging to the Harbor Board endowment at the Heads, was sold by auction on Saturday. The township is divided into 100 sections, averaging an acre each, the leases being 42 years, the rent doubling at the end of 21 years. Great interest was taken in the .sale, and leases of eighty out of the hundred sections were taken up. All but five of those sold exceeded the upset price, and some fetched from three to nine times, and in one case thirteen times the upset price. The result of the sale is regarded as highly satisfactory.
