Messrs Stanley and Darbyshiro's Juvenile Opera Bouffc and Pantomine Company open in the Theatre Royal to-night for a short season with the operatic satire "11.M.5. Pinafore." Old members and persons who intend joining the Artillery and Rifle Volunteers under the new regulations will be sworn in to-night, the Artillery at the Fire Brigade Station at 8 o'clock, and the Rifles at the Council Chamber between 8 and 9.30 p.m. Mr Lyndon will hold an auction sale of useful furniture, pictures, books, and other goods, also a lot of well-bred canaries and a variety of cages, at his rooms on Monday at 11 a.m. Tenders Avill be received up till Monday nextforpainting St. Mary's Catholic Church, Napier. On Tuesday next Messrs Banner and Liddlc will sell on the premises, Clive Square, the whole of Mrs Mitchell's household furniture and effects. The ladies attending the Ladies College, Napier, are requested to re-assemble on Thursday next. The Town Clerk notifies that the building regulations contained in No. 19 byelaw arc in force over the whole of the Borough of Napier, and builders and others are cautioned that the penalties for noncompliance therewith will be strictly enforced. A few men are still wanted to bring the Napier Rifle Volunteers up to its full strength. Messrs E. Lyndon, J. A. Smith, and J. B. Gleadow cease to hold office as members of the Napier Harbor Board on the second Monday in the month of February, and to fill the vacancies thus caused an election will be held by the ratepayers of the Borough of Napier on that day. The nomination of candidates must be made before noon on Wednesday, February 7. A deed of arrangement for the benefit of his creditors has been filed in the Supreme Court by John Joseph Browne, of Ormondville, storekeeper, and a meeting of the creditors for the purpose of assenting to same will be held at the Court House, Napier on Wednesday, February 14. Crown lauds in the Woodville, Norsewood, Takapau, and Maungaharuru survey districts will be open for sale by application at the Crown Lands Office, Napier, on Monday, sth March. Messrs Blythe and Co. want thojjpublio to remember their cheap dress goods. Messrs Combs and Co., of the Cash Palace, having made large purchases of ladies' underclothing at greatly reduced prices, are offering the same at a corresponding discount. See price list in our supplement. Messrs Hardy and Sidey, ironmongers, advertise the receipt of twenty dozen glass fly traps, which they arc selling cheap. "Comfort," office of this paper, requires board and residence in a private family for young gentlemen. Mr W. E. Woods, Pharmaceutical Chemist, Napier and Hastings, informs the public that owing to increase in business, he has determined to reduce his scale of charges.
