Patoka Suka.-.y Disteict. 11. .. 5 .. 263 1 0 ..131 12 G Description.—The Sections in Block XIV. and Sections 30 to 35, Block XIII., Pohui District, are chiefly forest Avith a few clearings. The timber consists of Rimu, Matai, and a little Wliitc Pine. The formation of the ground is undulating and Avell Avatercd, tbe soil inclined to be light. Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 11, and 12 of Block 11., Patoka, 15, and 10 of Block XIII., and 8 of Block 15, Pohui. Districts, are open hilly fern land, Avith a little bush on Sections 11, 12, 15, and 8. Sections 1 and 2, Block VI., Patoka, open fern land, hilly, soil light, OA'erlyiug limestone fonnatiou, a small quantity of bush on each. Access is given by roads Avhich luia'O been partly formed, about 2.V miles through the bush being cleared of timber. The HaAvke's Bay County Council has in course of construction a line of road giving access to these lands from the inland Patea road, a distance of six miles. There is also another dray road via Puketapu and Rissiiigion. The distance from Napier is about 40 miles by road. Schedule of Lands for Sale on Deferred Payments. Section 2 has a small frontage to the Taupo-road, and is bounded on one side by tho Mohaka iiA'cr. Sections 3 and 4 haA r e frontage to the Taupo-road. Maungaharuru District: Fern hills and spurs on the Avcstern slopes of the Maungaharuru range, the soil is light, about one half of Section 2 is undulating country covered Avith natural grasses. Section 3is good pastoral land. Section 4 has frontage to Taupo-road. A foAv clumps of bush are scattered about on Section 1. Waitara District: Open fern country, hilly. . . A bridle-road on the permanent grades • has been formed a distance of 12 miles : through tbe block, starting from the TauporOad about 35 miles from Napier. ; Crown Lands Office, Napier, Jan. 9, 1883.
