FROZEN MEAT EXPORT.

Two hundred carcases of mutton AA-ero brought doAvn by train from the yards of tho Gear Meat Preserving Company at Petone shortly before 0 o'clock yesterday morning, and immediately put aboard the ship Lady Jocolyu, Avhere they Avere lowered into the freezing-chamber by means of speciallyprepared and fitted cages. In the chamber mentioned they Avere placed on hooks as nearly as possible in the same position as they Avould have been in a butcher's shop. As soon as this Avork had been completed, the doors AA'ore closed, tlie refrigerating machinery being-immediately put in motion. At an early hour this morning the meat Avill be taken out by the stevedores, put in ■wrappers, and placed in the main chamber, where it aa-HI remain for three days, in order to ascertain Avhether the freezing has been properly done. Should the result prove satisfactory, the carcases Avill be stoAved away, and. a fresh lot A\-ill take their place. Consignments equal to about 250 carcases of mutton Avill bo sent doivu from the slaughtering yards daily until the chamber has been filled".
