Patoka Survey District. IT. .. 5 .. 203 10.. 131 12 6 Description.—The Sections in Block XIV. and Sections 30 to 35, Block XIII., Pohui District, are chiefly forest with a few clearings. The timber consists of Rinui, Matai, and a little AVhite Pine. The format-ion of the ground is undulating and well Avatered, the soil inclined to be liuiit. Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 11, and 12 of Block 11., Patoka, 15, and 10 of Block XIII., and 8 of Block 15, Pohui Districts, are open hilly fern laud, Avith a. little bush on Sections 11, 12, 15, and 8. Sections 1 and 2, Block A"L, Patoka, open fern hmd, hilly, soil light, OA'erlyhig limestone formation, a small quantity of bush on each. Access is given by roads Avhich have been partly formed, about miles through the bush being cleared of timber. The HaAvke's Bay County Council has in course of construction a line of road giving access to these lands from the inland Patea road, a distance of six miles. There is also another dray road via Puketapu and Rissington. The distance from Napier is about 40 miles by road. Schedule of Laxds for Sale ox Deferred Payments. Section 2 has a small frontage to theTa.u])o-road, and is bounded on one side by the Mohaka river. Sections 3 and 4 have frontage to the Taupo-road. Maungaharuru District: Fern hills and spurs on thc'AA'cstern slopes of the Maungaharuru range, the soil is light, about one half of Section 2 is undulating country covered Avith natural grasses. Section 3is good pastoral land. Section 4 has frontage to Taupo-road. A few clumps of bush arc scattered about on Section 1. AVaitara District: Open fern country, hilly. A bridle-road on the permanent grades has been formed a. distance of 12 miles through the block, starting from the Tauporoad about 35 miles from Napier. CroAvn Lands Office, Napier, Jan. 9, 1883.
