NORSEWOOD.
[from our oavn correspondent.] January 22, ISB3. The cluldren attending the Norsewood Wesleyau Sunday school were entertained at a picnic held at Matamau on Saturday last. There was a large attendance of teachers, parents, and children, and a very pleasant day was spent. On the return journey, one of the conveyances turned over, but no "serious damage was done. On Saturday last a young man named Amundsen Avas injured at the railway works, Piri Piri, through a fall of earth in one of the cuttings. His leg got the full force of tho fall, but fortunately it was : not broken. He was removed in a trap to NorseAvood, where, with a little careful nursing, he A\ill soon he able to resume -work.
I am credibly informed that a firm of mill-OAvners in an adjoining district, together with several capitalists,. have secured ' a A r ery largo block of valuable totara bush in the neighborhood of Tahoraite, and intend shortly erecting one or two mills and a sash and door factory on the ground. This Ayill be good news to the Bush settlers.
