MEMBERS umvilling to serve under the ucav Regulations arc requested to apply'for their discharge on or before THURSDAY, the 25th instant. Having delivered up all arms and accoutrements, or other property, and paid any duos in Avhich they may be indebted to the Company, such discharge avi'll at once be granted. Members Avilling to serve under the ucav Regulations are requested to signify the same to the officer commanding the company on or before THURSDAY, tho 25th instant, by filling up and forwarding the proper form. With a vioAv of clearly placing the position of the company before members, and others Avho may be disposed to join it, the following information is placed before them. Should the company on tho 31st instant not number forty-throe rank and file, including recruits "all duly kaa-oi'ji in under the new Regulations, it Avill lie disbanded, thus loosing (even should it bo re-organised the day after) its seniority among the corps of Ncav Zealand. With a. vicav to avoiding this, and if possible saving the coup's precedence, the officers individually aud collectively place their commissions in the hands of the company as ncAvly constituted, and either or all of them Avill at once resign if requested by the A-otc of three-fourths of those members and proposing members Avho may by the 25th instant have signified their willingness to re-enrol or enrol, such request to be simply conveyed by Avord of mouth through the senior non-commissioned officer to the officerconimauding the company on or before that he has paid all money due by him under these Regulations or the rules of the corps ; and provided further that the capitation alloAvancc for such Volunteer shall be paid to the corps in which he may be serving at the termination of the Volunteer year. 70. A Volunteer Avill not be allowed to resign until after a year's sendee except on account of ill-health or departure from the colony. Should a Volunteer, after enrolment, determine to reside in another part of the colony, he may be transferred to a corps of the same arm, should one exist in the district to Avhich be may proceed, or may obtain his discharge as provided in paragraph 71. 71. If a Volunteer Avishcs to quit the Force, lie may, on shoAving sufficient cause, be permitted to do so cither Avithout payment or on payment of such sum as the Minister, on the recommendation of the Officer Commanding the Corps, shall fix. All sums so paid shall be credited to the funds of the corps the discharged man sci'A-ed in. 72. No Volunteer who is permitted to quit the force Avill receive his discharge until he has given up in good order, fair Avcar and tear only excepted, all articles of Government property issued to him. 73. The Commanding Officer of a corps is to give to any Volunteer Avho voluutarily quits it, and Avho has complied Avith the conditions contained in paragraph 72, a, certificate. This certificate is to be presented to the Officer in Command of the District, Avho Avill furnish such Volunteer, if requested to do so, Avith a discharge certificate. 75. When a Volunteer, temporarily absent from his district, attends the drills of another corps, the Officer Commanding that corps, or officer of permanent staff, Avill furnish him Avith a certificate of the drills he has attended. 94. Recruits on enrolment in Garrison or Head-Quarter corps, avlio have not previously received a military training, -will be formed into squads irrespective of the corps for which they enrolled, and Avill have to attend at least thirty hours' drill (exclu.siA'C of target and judging-distance practice) before being permitted to join the ranks. 95. When reported proficient in their drills they Avill be passed by an officer of tho permanent staff, and Avill then be entitled to receive a certificate of efficiency, Avhich Avill carry Avith it capitation for the Volunteer year in Avhich they enrolled, provided that the period under instruction has uot exceeded six muuths. 96. A free issue of fa serge suit Avill be made to these recruits. 97. Men Avishing to join a corps Avho haye served in any regular force or undergone a military training Avill be permitted to enrol at any time during tho Volunteer year, provided they pass in drill to the satisfaction of the Officer Commanding the District, or officer of the permanent staff; but these men will not be entitled to capitation grant for the year iv which they Avere enrolled, unless they have attended the required number of GoA'ernment parades. 112. The Officer Commanding the District may order such other parades as he may consider necessary, but not more than three parades in any one month -will be alloAvcd to count for capitation. 119. No parade, at whioh less than tAVOthirds of the strength of a corps is present, is at any time to be credited to a corps as an inspection or Government parade towards capitation or efficiency. 135. A capitation allowance of £2 10s per annum will be granted to "efficient " members of Garrison and Head-Quarter corps* A member to be deemed an '' efficient Volunteer must have, during the year, (a) Attended twelve Government parades or drills, four of which must haA'e been by daylight, and. each of such parades or drills not less than tAvo hours' duration, one of which must haA'e been exclusiA'cly devoted to drill ; (/;) Fired in the first and second periods . • ' target practice;
