Mr Archibald Forbes' second lecture, " Kings and Princes I have met," Avill be delivered in the Theatre Royal this evening. Immediately after parade a meeting of the Artillery Volunteers aa4ll be held in the Criterion Hotel. The annual ram fair under the auspices of the Agricultural and Pastoral Society takes place at Hastings to-morrow, and sales of rams and ewes in connection thcreaa ith will be held by Messrs M. R. M'ller and Potts, and Messrs Hoadley, Lyon and Co., the hitter's sale commencing at 10.30 a.m. sharp. A special train -will run to the slioav ground, leaving Napier at 8.45 a.m., and Hastings (on return) at 0.30 p.m. An auction sale of ci-oaaii lands for cash in the Mangaone, Tiffin, Mangapakeha, WaipaAva, Wainuioru, Mount Cerberus, Aohanga, and Mount Robinson survey districts Avill take place at the Institute, Masterton, on Thursday, February 15, and applications to purchase unsold cash sections at ManaAvatu and Wangamii Avill be received at the Land Office, Wellington, up to Monday, February 19. A meeting of ratepayers in theHeretaunga Higfnvay district Avill be held in the ToAvn Hall, Hastings, on Friday evening, for the purpose of striking a rate to carry out drainage scheme, and for electing cemetery trustees. Mrs May's school, Repo lute, Napier, AA-ill be re-opened on Tuesday next, and the Heretaunga and Stonebyres schools at Hastings, conducted by Mr RainboAv and Miss Bogle and Mrs GriniAVOod respectively, on Monday, February 5. On and after to-day the Taupo coach will leave the booking office every Tuesday, instead of Wednesday as hitherto, and in consequence the time-table has been amended. Messrs Blythc and Co. quote prices for dress stuffs, being bargains secured during stock-taking Aveck in Dunedin. Mr J. Murray is offering ladies boots of all descriptions at reduced prices at the Napier Cash Boot Shop. Miss TreuAvith, next Mr Denholm's store, has opened n school on the Spit. Messrs Kinross and Co. request consignees of goods by the barque May Queen from London to pass entries and present bills of lading Avithout delay. A colt and tAvo fillies have been impounded at Hastings, and, if not redeemed, Avill be sold on February 7. Mr Brooking has seA-eral Avell-situated sections at Onepoto for sale on easy terms.
