MESSRS HOADLEY, LYON AND CO.'S WEEKLY REPORT. Land.—On Tuesday we held our monthly land sale at the Hawke's Bay Wool Stores. There was a very small attendance, and the sale was without animation, only two properties out of the five offered being sold, namely, on account of Mr John Dutton, town section No. 63, Huvclock, containing half-an-acre, to Mr Allan M'Lean, for £2S: and on account of Mr Patrick M'Keoun, block No. 8, Korokipo, containing 73 acres 2 roods 21 perches to Mr F. Sutton, M.H.R., at .£l3 10s per acre. At our next sale in February we shall offer several valuablejproperties, and shall be glad to receive further entries at an early date from intending sellers. Wool.—The entries for our sale to be held on the 31st instant now number over 000 bales, and with late advices showing a firm market in London we anticipate late rates to be well maintained. Rams.—We remind our country friends that the annual Ram Fair will be held on Wednesday next on the Show Grounds at Hastings, when a very superior lot of sheep will be yarded. There being a great number of lots to get through the sale will be started punctually at half-past ten, and for the convenience of buyers we have engaged a special train to leave Napier at 8.13 a.m., passengers by which will bo landed on the Show Ground platform. This train will return to Napier, leaving the Show Ground platform at G. 30 p.m. [by cable.] London, January 19. Consols arc quoted at 100 ; J-, an advance of one-eighth. The market rate of discount has declined to 3A, a fall of one-quarter ; the bank rate continues at 5 per cent. Adelaide wheat has advanced Is per quarter, and to-day is quoted at 30s, cxwareliouse; New Zealand wheat remains at 4-1 sto 17s according to quality, and Adeflour at 335, both ex-store. The total quantity of wheat afloat for Great Britain is 2,280,000 quarters, 20,000 less than last week. Australian tallow has advanced Gd to 1 s per cwt. To-day's prices are, best beef 4os Gd, and best mutton 40s. Best selected transparent kauri gum is quoted at £I' 2 10s, an advance of 7s Gd per cwt.
