It —Sir Donald, s.s., for the coast. 1-3 —Maoi-i, s.s., for Mohaka. Passengers —Messrs Brathwaite and 11. Gilford. ♦ The Union Steamship Company's s.s. Arawata arrived in our roadstead from Melbourne via Hobart, Southern ports, and Wellington shortly after 3 o'clock on Saturday afternoon. The following is a report of her passage, kindly furnished by Mr Ma tide, her purser:—Left Melbourne on the 3rd instant at 9 p.m., cleared the Heads at 11.30 p.m. and arrived at Hobart on the sth at 12 noon ; left on the sth at G p.m., and arrived at the Bluff on the oth at 5 p.m. ; left same day at o p.m., and arrived at Port Chalmers on the 10th at 6 a.m. ; left at G p.m., and arrived at Lyttelton on the 11th at 11 a.m.; left at 7 p.m., and arrived at Wellington on the 12th at 9.:>0 a.m. : left same day at 10 p.m., and arrived at Napier as given above. She experienced light winds and fine weather throughout the passage. The Boojum attended for and with passengers, and the lighters for about 40 tons of cargo. The Arawata steamed for Poverty Bay and Auckland at 8 o'clock in the evening. The Union Company's steamer Ringarooma, from Sydney via Auckland and Gisborne, arrived iv the bay at an early hour yesterday morning. The transhipment of her cargo, and inward and oxitward passengers- was completed by noon, when the steamer proceeded on her way for Melbourne and Southern ports. The following is a report of her passage, kindly furnished by the purser, and which accounts for her being a day late on her way down the coast, having experienced head winds almost to arrival at Auckland :—Left Syduey on Thursday, the -Ith instant, at G. 20 p.m., and cleared the Heads at fJ.-to p.m., and arrived in Auckland at .5.30 p.m. on Wednesday, the 10th, having experienced strong easterly wind with high seas until rounding the North Cape at 1.20 a.m. on the 10th, thence fine weather; left Auckland at 12.15 p.m. on the 12th, reaching Poverty Bay at 2 p.m. on tho 13th : sailed at G. 30 p.m. on the same evening, and arrived here as given above. The steamer Kiwi, Captain James Campbell, arrived here this morning from Wellington and the coast, having left the former place on Saturday evening. She was berthed inside at the breastwork, where she is discharging her cargo, which was a full one, consisting largely of transhipments out of tho ships Lady Jocelyn and Orari. She will be shipping some general cargo and a number of sheep this afternoon, and will take her departure for Wellington and the coast at G o'clock to-night. The steamers Fairy and Sir Donald left for southern coastal stations last night, the former at S o'clock and the latter at 10 o'clock. The steamer Maori, Capt. Anderson, left for Mohaka at 5 o'clock this morning, with a good cargo. The Union Company's steamer Omapere took her departure for Gisborne, Tauranga, and Auckland at -1 o'clock on Saturday afternoon. The three-masted schooner Mary Wadlcy was berthed inside on Saturday evening at the breastwork, where she commenced discharging her cargo of coal for the Gas Company this morning. The topsail schooner Zior sailed for Greymouth iv ballast on Saturday afternoon. The p.s. Manaia will get away for Wairoa at 12 o'clock to-night, taking passengers and cargo.
