ASHBURTON.

This day. John Meiklejohn, who stands committed for trial on charges of stealing a large iiumbes of Sir John Hall's and Mr Bealey's sheep, was brought up yesterday on another charge of stealing 500 sheep belonging to Mr Cordy, of Hororata. The accused, who is a sheepfarmer and well-known throughout Canterbury, was committed for trial on this charge also.
