STRIKE OF BAKERS IN MELBOURNE.
MINISTERIAL ELECTIONS IN NEW SOUTH WALES. THE INSURANCE AND BANKING RECORD ON THE VICTORIAN AND NEW ZEALAND LOANS. MELBOURNE. January 11. At a meeting of operative bakers held here to-day it was decided that the men should go' out on strike without further delay unless their demands for increased wages were acceded to. This day. The Australasian Insurance and Banking Record lias an article commenting on the New Zealand loan. It draws attention to the date of the issue and the minimum fixed, and says that it looks like a attempt to "jostle"'Victoria. The Record adds that it is the first time in the history of the colomes that such proceeding has occurred.
