Napier, January 11, 1881!. Messrs Banner and Liddle report:—At our skin sale yesterday there was a moderate attendance of buyers. Competition was, however, very keen, and prices showed a slight advance on previous rates. The quality and condition of the skins wore fairly good. Merino brought lid quarterwoolled, Gjid half-woolled, and 7d for three-quarter-woolled. Crossbred, 3d for halfwoolled, ;3Jd, 3}d, Gd, Oi, 63, and 7id for three-quarter to full-woolled. Mixed lots fetched lid to 2>d per lb. Tallow sold at _|d per lb. JlrJI. R. Miller reports having held a sale of oats at the Spit yesterday, when he offered 000 bags, but bidding was very dull. Wheat is steady at Is Od to Is lid for shipping; malting barley is scarce and linn at Is 3d ; New Zealand oats arc weak and irregular, milling sorts beiutr worth 3s lOd to Is Id.
