Open to all horses that have never won an advertised race exceeding 25 soys in value. Winner of any such race after entry to carry Tib penalty; weight for age. Welter Handicap—Of 100 soys. ; second horse to receive 20 soys. from the stake; distance two miles ; nomination 2 soys., on Tuesday, 19th December. Weights to be declared on Wednesday, 7th February : acceptance with 3 soys. on niu'ht of treueral entry. Minimum weight 9st'7lb. Napier Handicap—Of 500 soys: second horse to receive 50 soys., and third horse to receive 20 soys. from the stake. Distance one-and-three-quarter mile: nomination 2 soys. on Tuesday, 10th December. Weights to be declared on Wednesday. 7th February; acceptance with 5 soys. on Tuesday, 20th February; final payment of 8 soys. on night of general entry. The -winner of any handicap of the value of 300 soys. after the declaration of the weights to carry 101b. extra: of the value of 200 soys. 71b. extra : of the value of 100 soys. 51b. extra. Provincial Produce Stakes—Of 100 soys. ; distance, one mile; entrance, 5 soys. ; weight for age ; for all horses bred in the Provincial District of Hawke's Bay that never won a race exceeding 25 soys. in value ; winner of any such race after entry to carry 71b. penalty. Tradesman's Handicap — Of 200 soys. ; second horse to receive 25 soys. from the stake; distance, one and a half miles ; nomination, 2 soys. ou night of general entry ; weights will be declared on night of first day's races ; acceptance with 5 soys., by 11 p.m. on night of first day's races. Autumn Handicap—Of 100 soys. ; distance, three-quarters of a mile : for 2 and 3 year-olds ; nomination 1 soy., on night of general entry ; weights will be declared on night of first day's races ; acceptance, with 3 soys., by 11 p.m. on night of first day's races. Consolation Handicap—Of 30 soys. ; distance, one mile; entrance, 2 soys. ; for all beaten horses (hacks excepted). RULES AND REGULATIONS. No entry will be received for any race except upon the condition that all claims, disputes, and objections arising shall be decided by the Stewards, or whom they may appoint, and their decision upon all points shall be final. General entries, TUESDAY, Gth MARCH; (.nullification fee 2 soys., for non-members, payable at same time. All nominations, entries, and acceptances, accompanied by the necessary amount in cash, must be addressed to the Secretary, and left at the Criterion Hotel, Napier, not later than 8 p.m. on the several specified dates. The rules and weights of the Hawke's Bay Jockey Club will be strictly adhered to. Five per cent, will be deducted from the gross amount of all stakes.
