January 1. The South Australian revenue returns were published to-day. The receipts for the quarter ended December 31 amount to £173,000, being a decrease of £70,000 as compared with the corresponding quarter of last year. The Customs revenue during the same period has increased by £18,000. The territorial receipts have increased by £80,000. The revenue for the past halfyear is £90,000 below the estimate. January 2. The steamship Natal, 4000 tons, has arrived from Marseilles. She is the pioneer of the Mcssageriese Maritime Company's line to Australia and New Caledonia.
