PORT AHURIRI DISTRICT SCHOOL.

The " breaking-up" ceremony afc the above school took place yesterday, a considerable number of visitors being present. The prizes were distributed by the Rev. D. Sidey, who also suitably addressed the school children. A number of maps and other drawings the work of the school children, were exhibited. After the distribution, the teachers and pupils presented Mr Smith with an inkstand, as a mark of their esteem. The following is a list of the prize-takers : — Standard VI.—E. A. Kracffc.
