The new London law courts were opened to-day by Her Majesty the Queen in state. A large number of notabilities and an immense concourse of people were present, and tbe proceedings passed off with great eclat. Mr T. M. Healey, M.P. for "Wexford, and one of the leaders of the Irish National League, has been summoned to find sureties for his good behaviour. At to-day's wool sale the catalogue comprised 10,100 bales. Good competition was experienced, and prices were fairly maintained. December 5. It is announced that Mr F. Napier Broome, C.M.G., Lieut-Governor of Mauritius, has been appointed to succeed Sir W. Robinson as Governor of Western Australia. The British Government has recommended General Sir Evelyn Wood to the Egyptian Government for the appointment ot Commander-in-Chief of the Egyptian army.
