HOSPITAL SUNDAY.
[To the Editor of the Daily Tele_r___.] jS ik .—Allow me to give expression to the surprise and indignation felt by the Wesleyans of Napier at the managers of Trinity Church refusing to give one Sunday's collection towards the funds of "w'"' our principal charitable institutions. Aa J a Wesleyan I am thoroughly ashamed of my church, and can only say that »is not by the voice of the congregation *at the request was refused. The public, too, have a right to expect something better from us after the very liberal manner in which they patronised our fair, and cleared oft the greater part of our debts. I think it comes with even worse grace at this time, when the church is praying for a revival of true religion pure and undefined, and throwing their energies and money in with Mrs Hampson to bring about this desirable ttate. f can only regard it as a piece of bungling on the part of a couple of officers whose term of office, the congregation have much reason to be thankful for, terminates in three or four weeks, and it is to be hoped under new administration early in the year a collection will be taken up for the Hospital.—l asi), &c, E.
