OAMARU.
December 2,
The indefinite nature of the Order in Council relating to the new volunteer regulations led to a difficulty here on Thursday. The Artillery and Rifles fire for a cup giveti by Mr Sbrimski, M.H.R., and Captain Creagh, of the Artillery, has given written notice to Captain Headland that he objects to the bandsman of the Rifles firing in the team, holding that the new regulations are now in force, and that under them the baud becomes a garrison band. Captain Creagh is a lawyer, and threatens to persist in his objection, and as Captain Headland is equally persistent complications willlikely arise unless the point be put beyond dispute.
