NOTABILIA.

The Weekly Mercttry, published this morning, contains the latest intelligence, and will be found an excellent medium, for transmitting colonial news to friends at home by the outgoing English mail. The paper can be obtained from all the agents, and at this office.

The nautical opera "Billee Taylor " will he repeated at the Theatre Boyal this evening by the Tambour-Major Opera Company. A special train in connection therewith leaves Hastings for Napier and intermediate stations at 7 p.m., returning after the performance.

The nominations of School Committees for the election of one member to the vacancy on the Education. Board must be sent in to the secretary of the Board, Mr Hill, not later than to-morrow.

A local option poll under the provisions of the Licensing Act for the licensing district of Puketapu will be taken at the public school at Petane to-morrow, so as to determine whether .the several licenses may or may not be increased during the ensuing three years. Messrs Monteith and Co. hold their regular weekly sale of stO2k and produce at the Horse Bazaar to-morrow at 1.30 p.m., and also offer for positive sale, unless redeemed, the draught horse Campsie 3rd.

Tenders for erecting additions to a house on Marine Parade, and for painting and paperhanging an eight-roomed house at Korokipo, must be sent in to-morrow, the former to Mr Dugleby, and the latter to Messrs Pointon and Gray.

If not previously redeemed a bay gelding will be sold at the Napier pound at noon to-morrow.

All accounts against the Horticultural Society's show must be sent into the hon. sec, Mr Margoliouth, before noon on Tuesday next. Mr W. Harper, butcher, authorises Mr B. G. Graham to receive all accounts due to him.

Mr J. Stotharr, Clive, wants to sell one of Howard's patent self-acting rakes. Mr Thomas Milne, Takapau, has a threeroomed cottage fenced in on quarter-acre leasehold in the township of Takapau, and also a cow and calf, for sale.

The finder of a chased silver bracelet, lost on Monday evening between the railway station and the Theatre, will be rewarded on leaving same at the office of this paper.

Messrs Neal and Close invite the public to see the novelties, Christmas presents, &c, on their tables.

In order to effect a speedy clearance the Colonial Clothing and General Drapery Company have still further reduced the price of their entire stock, and quote figures at which they offer same for two weeks longer.

At the stall to-morrow Messrs Blythe and Co. will offer girls' kid boots at 4s 6d per pair. Woods' eucalyptis balsam is an efficacious remedy for coughs, colds, asthma, and bronchial affections of all kinds.
