GISBORNE.
November 30.
The Pouawa and Whatupoko lands offeredjby the Native Land Company on Tuesday were registered in the Napier Land Registry Office before the sale. As a heavy incumbrance had to be paid off registration was necessarily deferred until the eve of the sale, which gave rise to doubts upon the title. Such doubts had, however, no foundation. The Whatupoko land sold freely at £12 10s to £21 per acre. Tne Pouawa land was chiefly withdrawn at the upset price of £2. About 750 acres, however, were sold, and there was free enquiry yesterday for the larger sections.
