The Union Company's steamer Arawata, Captain McGee, arrived in the roadstead from Wellington, Southern ports, and Melbourne, at 4 o'clock on Saturday afternoon, and was tendered at about 6 o'clock for mails, passengers, and cargo, the latter consisting of about 80 tons. She got away for Northern ports and Sydney at midnight. The three-masted schooner Frank Gu , Captain J. P. Balle, arrived here from Newcastle, N.S.W., at 2 o'clock on Saturday afternoon. She reports having left on tho Bth instant at 6 a.m. with light easterly ■winds. During the run over to Cook Strait a succession of northerly and easterly winds were experienced ; run through the Straits on the 13th inst. with, a fresh westerly, and from thence northerly winds along the coast. She was off Cape Turnagain on tho 22nd, rounded Cape Kidnapers on the 25th, and sailed into the port, arriving alongside the breastwork as given above. The Guy brings 270 tons of coal for this port, consigned to her owner, Mr J. H. Vautier. She commenced discharging this morning.

The Union Company's s.s. Rotorua Captain Tozer, from Northern ports, arrived in the bay at 4 o'clock on Saturday afternoon, and was at once tendered for mails, passengers, &c. She discharged her cargo, some 40 tons, into the ketch Three Brothers, and resumed her voyage southwards at 10 p.m.

Tbe steamer Sir Donald, which left for Blackhead on Saturday morning, found on rounding the Kidnappers that there was a heavy southerly sea running, which precluded all chance of landing on the coast, so she returned to port in the afternoon. She is expected to make another attempt tonight.

The three-masted schooner Silver Cloud, Capt. Charles Ballo, arrived in the roadstead on Saturday night from Newcastle, N.S.W., and was towed inside this morning by the Fairy and berthed at the breastwork. She brings a full cargo of coal for her owner, Mr J. H. Vautier.

The p.s. Manaia, Capt. Baxter, returned from Wairoa at 11 o'clock yesterday morning, bringing a number of passengers and wool.

The Union Company's s.s. Omapere is expected to arrive here by to-morrow afternoon.

The steamer Maori left for Wairoa at 9 o'clock yesterday morning, taking a good cargo, several members of the Rifle band, and the Napier cricketing team.

The s.s. Boojum is on the hard having some repairs executed, and will not make her usual trip to Wairoa this week.

While in the bay on Saturday evening the Union Company's steamers changed captains, Captain Tozer taking command of the Arawata, and Captain M'Gee that of the Rotorua.
