November 24. Thomas Beeon, the resident agent here for Messrs Arthur Briscoe and Co., Dunedin, was committed for trial yesterday on tbe charge of embezzling £.50 from bis employees. The case was of a very mixed nature. The Industrial Association is forwarding circulars to all the large iroufounders in the colony, with the view of obtaining information as to the possibility of manufacturing railway plant within the colony. the river at Sumner yesterday, went beyond his depth and was drowned. He h*)d only recently arrived from Dunedin. The body has not yet been recovered.
