WASTE LANDS BOARD.
This Day. The Board met at Ham. Present: The Commissioner of Crown 'Lands (in the chair), and Messrs J. Buchanan, M.H.R., F. Sutton, M.H.R., R. Harding, and Captain Russell. CORRESPONDENCE. The following correspondence was read:— From the Under-Secretary for Crown Lands, stating that section 26, Block XIV., Pohui district, will be made a timber reserve as recommended by the Board. From the chairman Kumeroa Highway Board, shewing lines ot road on which it was proposed to expend £98 13s 7d grant-in-aid on account of land sold on deferred payments.—Agreed to. From Thomas Willan, applying to lease a Bmall portion of land originally river bed between the public road and Meanee river.—Application declined. From Olaf Johansen, asking for extension of time to make improvements on land taken up by him on deferred payments.—Consideration deferred pending tbe ranger's report after inspection. From H. McKenzie and Co., applying for about 15,000 feet totara for building bridges at Wbakaruatapu and Mangatera. —Applicant to be informed that there is no land in the locality at present under the administration of the Board. CLASSIFICATION OF LANDS. A communication was received from the Chief Surveyor conveying valuation and classification of lands in the Pohui and Patoka districts.
It was decided that the following lands be offered at auction at the prices named in valuation : —Sections 15 and 16, and sections 30 to 35 inclusive, block VIII.; sections 5 to 8, 9a, 10 to 19, 19a, 20, 22 to 29, 31 to 38, and 40 to 46, Block XIV.; sections 8 and 20, Block XV., Pohui district. Sections 1 to 5,11 and 12, Block 11., and sections 1 and 2, Block VL, Patoka district.
