Pi) R T AHUR IR T • ARRIVALS. November. 16—Sir Donald, s.s., from Tongoio. DEPARTURES. November l(j_Southern Cross, s.s., for Poverty Bay and Auckland. Passengers—Messrs W. K. McLean, Burgess, Denby, Jacobs, Wright, and F. W. C. Robjohns.

The steamer Sir Donald, Captain Quinlan, returned from Tongoio yesterday afternoon, on finding that the sea on the beach there ■was too heavy to allow of her communicating with the shore. The Union Company's s.s. Southern Cross, Captain Bernecb, shipped two racehorses yesterday afternoon, and steamed for Gisborne and Aitckland at 6 o'clock in the ovening. The steamer Go-Ahead, Captain Doile, is telegraphed as having left Wellington at 6 o'clock on Thursday night, and Castle Point at 8.30 a.m. this day, calling at coastal sta-' tions. She is expected to arrive here by to-morrow morning, and is announced to sail again at noon. The Union Steamship Company s s.s. Ringai-ooma left Auckland at 1 o'clock yesterday afternoon, with 40 tons of cargo on board for this port, and is due here at daylight to-morrow morning. She will be tendered at 1 a.m. for passengers and cargo, and is announced to sail again for Southern ports and Melbourne at 11.30 a.m. The p.s. Manaia's departure for Wairoa •was postponed last night, as her captain received a discouraging report of the bar at that place during the afternoon. _ It is, however, reported to be clear again this morning, and she will steam at 12 o'clock to-night. The steamer Maori, Capt. Anderson, leaves for Wairoa at 12 o'clock to-night, taking a full load of cargo. The s.s. Rotorua is to leave Wellington this afternoon, and is due here to-morrow morning, sailing for Northern ports at 4 o'clock i'he same afternoon.

The ketch Admiral is loading up at the breastwork this morning with about 60 tons of railway plant for transhipment to tho Union Company's s.s. Rotorua to-morrow.
